From a sequel that no one really wants to a promising online gambling drama to the an erotic indie pic, here's a round up of films that have added to their cast over the past few days....

The Weinstein Company announced yesterday that the fifth entry in the “Scary Movie” franchise has found its star in Ashley Tisdale (star of various Disney Channel and ABC Family properties). “Scary Movie 5,” shooting this summer for a release date of January 11, 2013, will hit theaters seven years after its predecessor. David Zucker will be producing and co-writing with Malcolm Lee taking the director’s chair.

The cast for the Brian Koppelman and David Levien-penned and Brad Furman-directed “Runner, Runner” keeps getting more interesting. Ben Schwartz, who you may remember as the deliciously smarmy Jean-Ralphio on “Parks and Recreation,” has joined the cast of the online gambling thriller which already has Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake, Gemma Arterton, Sam Palladio, Oliver Cooper and Anthony Mackie. Schwartz will play Timberlake’s best friend. Production starts this summer in Puerto Rico. [Hollywood Reporter]

Léa Seydoux’s stock keeps on rising, and after appearing in last year’s blockbuster “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol” and the upcoming “Farewell My Queen,” she has signed up to provide the voice for the lead character in the animated feature, “Longway North.” The film, Remi Chaye’s debut, is set in the 1890s as the feisty aristocrat Sasha flees St. Petersburg to rescue her grandfather, a renowned explorer lost in the Arctic. Production on the animated feature starts next spring. [Variety]

Game of Thrones” actor Richard Madden is starring in the erotic indie film, “Long Nights Short Mornings.” The film will follow Madden "as a young man on an erotic odyssey through the streets of New York as he sleeps with seven women in seven nights." Chad Harbold (“Revenge For Jolly!”) is directing and shooting is set to start on location in New York later this year. [Variety]

The feature directorial debut of “Mad Men” creator Matt Weiner, “You Are Here,” has added "The Big Bang Theory" star Melissa Rauch to the mix. The film follows two roommates in their thirties, one a weatherman preoccupied with dodging the responsibilities and rigors of adult life who is co-dependent on his best friend. Things take a turn, however, at the sudden death of his buddy’s father, who inherits the family general store, a country home and millions of dollars worth of Amish farmland. Weiner will direct Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler and Zach Galifiankais in his decade-long passion project. So yeah, this thing pretty much sells itself. [Hollywood Reporter]

The teen-friendly cast will also lend their voices to an original soundtrack accompanying the indie project.

High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale are getting back into the animation business.

The actresses join Big Time Rush members Kendall Schmidt, Logan Henderson and Pretty Little Liars' Ashley Benson in a teen-friendly cast for The Great Migration, an animated film from the newly-formed CMI Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Additionally, the group will lend their voices to an original soundtrack to accompany the film.

Writer Kevin G. Schmidt (Cheaper By the Dozen I, II) will also star.

"The idea for The Great Migration arrived in my email inbox via a weekly newsletter from an alternative physician I follow in Chicago," Schmidt says. "The film centers on a group of characters that encounter a mutated predator threatening to destroy the balance of their environment."

Tisdale has long lent her voice to animation as a series regular on Disney Channel's Phineas and Ferb, while Hudgens previously voiced a character on Seth Green's adult cartoon series Robot Chicken. This will be the first animated project for Kendall Schmidt and Henderson.

The project will mark CMI Entertainment's first attempt at producing a film using pre-visualization, which aims to create high quality animation below current market prices.

"What we hope to accomplish with The Great Migration is the most efficient animated storytelling without sacrificing artistic vision or quality," says CMI's Michael Cammarata, who cites Timur Bekmambetov as his mentor and inspiration for the project. "If the right partners are economically and creatively on the same page, I believe projects can be brought from conception to reality quicker than ever before."
The film is expected to begin production Nov. 1. Cammarata, Kevin G. Schmidt and Rob Minkoff are producing.
